trying to sell it t a dealership, where can i get an estimate?

I'd say Kelly Blue Book, but they only go as far back as 1986.

Unless there's something I missed.

Try searching online ads for a similar year, model, and make of the car in question to get an idea.

If it's any basic transportation sort of car, I'm afraid it's not likely to be worth very much. I wouldn't pay more than $1,500 for a family car that old if it were in like new condition, and realistically you can expect less than half of that for a dealer trade in. And if it has peeling paint, body damage, or mechanical problems, it may cost more to get it fixed than the car is worth.

And if it is something strange - usually a luxury car or sports car - you are probably best off selling it to a collector.
