The Masons are a fraternal organization with both good and bad to them. There are 31 degrees that a man (no women allowed) goes through before becoming a Shriner. There are lots of secrets and rituals that have been passed down for many generations. It's the secrets that bother me. If they're not doing anything wrong, why keep it all so secret?
They do, however, do lots of good. Their main charity is burn units in hospitals. They run these hospitals in such a way that patients there don't have to pay anything for their care.

Free Masonry is a fraternal organization that dates back to the ancient Hebrew slaves who were building the pyramids for the egyptian pharoahs. What you read about the Masonic Lodge may be fact and/or fiction there is only one way to TRULY know what Free Masons are and do. There is no info about their organization that deals with their "secrets" that is written anywhere, all secrets have been passed on from one Mason to another by word of mouth for centuries as they still are today. Masons go through a number of degrees, 32 in all and the highest degree of 33 is only held by the head of the National Lodge, to be a shriner one must first obtain his 3rd degree and then enter either the York Rite or the Scottish Rite, the Shriners do alot of charity work involving mainly crippled children and also child burn victims. All medical services are free to the patients and their families. I grew up around Masons and Shriners and like all people there are good and bad.

Several presidents have been masons. There are an infinite amount of viewpoints concerning whether their aims are good, evil, or negligible. For the majority, they are pretty much like the rotary club or shriners. The higher levels have elaborate rituals for expanding ones awareness. The pyramid with the eye on the dollar bill is a masonic symbol.

I've heard a lot about them. Shriners are actually lower levels of the Masons. Yes the guys that wear funny hats and drive around in tiny cars. Supposeldy Masons are going to create a new world order after the fall of civilization here in the U.S.

I met either Masons or Shriners at the Fair and they said they were essentially a humanitarian group who like to donate time, money, and efforts toward community needs like children have. They said their roots are complementary with religions of all sorts, but they honor God.

The ones I know are good people and the majority of what you read online and hear about them are the ravings of conspiracy buffs.

Not from what I have read and researched. They were founded on a mutual disgust for Catholicism and all Christianity.
