I am so annoyed the fact hand luggage is banned in planes. I know it is for safety reasons. I wanted to carry my extra clothes in my hand lugage. why should bunch of f***king terrorists have to go ruin other peoples holidays who have been so looking forward to their holidays for ages.
now i cant do my excess shopping in country where everything is cheap. Dont believe this is happening. am flying on wednesday, and its my first time being on plane. (scared)

Look at it this way - would you rather they allowed hand luggage and you were blown out of the sky by a terrorist, or not allow it and you get there and back in one piece?
A sad state of affairs, I admit, but what's the option?

Yeah those stupid people enforcing these security implications what are they thinking telling people they cant carry on anything other than passport and medication. You would have thought this is so the plane doesn't get blown up when you guys are off on your holidays. Think of it this way at least your gonna make it there, if this rule was not put in place you could find your self not making it intended destination.
Think about this what would you rather, wear the clothes you were able to take or not wearing any of then cause you would be dead!

No need to be scared. Its like sitting in a bus....sometimes bumpy as on a bumpy road but its safer in the air than on the ground. More car accidents than there are plane accidents.Yes, agreed its a nuisance because sometimes you have something precious that you are afraid of losing in mislaid luggage but I guess thats life now. We just have to get used to all this. By the way a helicopter has been overhead at LAP for well over an hour!!!!Security so feel safe!

Yes, no problem. I always carry a weeks supply of my medication with me in hand luggage, and a backup supply in checked baggage. I always also carry a copy of the prescription a] to prove why, if need be and b] to help with getting replacements in the event of a disaster. And the usual headache tablets and those for stopping the trots . . . They've been checked a couple of times, the officer just took 'em out, looked at them and replaced them without comment each time. I'm assuming you're talking about legal tablets!

All airlines departing a UK airport are effected by this action. I imagine the US will follow suit.
It is a temporary measure in answer to a threat the best thing to do is read/listen to the news and contact the airlines to find out.
BA have a page here: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/flightops/public/en_gb that has information on what can and cannot be taken into the cabin of an aircraft.
Remember it is for your safety even if it is inconvienient.

Don't be scared of flying - it's still the safest form of transport! As for the latest terrorist threat - don't give into them. They want to cause maximum disruption, and this is exactly what they're doing. The idea of banning laptops, etc. is ridiculous. And it's a good source of money for those airlines that charge you to put luggage in the hold, if you're going to have to put everything in there! Grrr. Don't start me off on this hobby horse!

Yes i heard about this... You're not allowed to take Magazines or food or anything either?? You just allowed passport and Medication which will be held in a clear bag! its stupid idea. Don't be scared! Everything is fine. I went on holiday last month and we had a group if people on our flight and it was their first time. Don;t worry once you have been on you will want to do it again. Don't let them fooked up people spoil your time!

To be honest, I think this ban will only last for a few days whilst they install extra security measures. They had to change something, as obviously the terrorists were getting explosives through...so just consider yourself lucky they are being proactive, as otherwise, you and your clothes may not have made it in the first place.

Chill - all will be fine. YOu can still take extra clothes but just need to store them in the hold - no big deal. Agree that we should be pissed off with the terrorists, not the airlines.
