once a guy went up to me and just looked in my eyes and said, "Wow, you're beautiful" I melted for a good while.

A complement is a good start and later jokes can be used. But I would like a man to simply talk to me openly with a good deal of humour.

a geniune smile, then some small talk like a joke, but nothing over done...and i don't like any compliments or pick up lines, because it just gives the impression that he's sleazy or is only interested in a one-night-stand

A compliment, kinda sweet to hear how nice you look,or smell. A joke can be wonderful if it's said at the right time.

i like a compliment/joke..............one day as I was walking down the street a guy said..."I am so jealouse that I cant be your jeans!"
funny in a pervish kinda way.

Say hi, ask me my name and tell me yours. Tell me about you, ask me questions about me and maybe share a picture if you feel comfortable doing so. Just be truthful but always be careful. That is my advice to you.
