Oh, you know, hormones. Curiosity of the other sex. A new and sudden urgency to breed and the lack of maturity and discipline to keep the urges down...

Pornography is commericially made printed or visual material intended to stimulate and is not directed wholly directed at teenagers. I wonder if the word you meant was promiscuity? and this can be put down simply as curiosity at a time when hormones are raging and suddenly that annoying little girl from next door begins to look attractive. The degree of promiscuity varies from culture to culture and can take various forms. Anything from a kiss and fumble behind the bike sheds at school to full experimental sex. It has gone on for millenia and the older generation will frown on it while forgetting the fun and or embarrassment of thier own first encounters with the opposite sex. As a parent I just say 'be careful' but!! who listens to parents. Oh yes, who said it is the domain of teenagers here in the UK their has been a steep rise in cases of STIs in the over 50s.

I don't think there is a "main" cause, but rather a multitude of reasons. One that comes to mind as a primary inducement to become involved in porn, other than simply watching a movie is environment. I believe that in many cases teenagers are introduced to porn by someone they trust and are manipulated into performing and the pay is well above what is normal in a "teenage" job. Teenagers already have the "I am invincible" mentality and the rebelliousness comes naturally, convincing themselves porn is ok.
Then there are those whose involvement stems from need, from a lack of self respect as a result of upbringing, drugs, and those who simply like the sex and the variety porn brings.
Of course you have the normal stages of curiosity and thankfully in the majority that quickly passes after a few movies.
Whatever an individuals reasons are for their involvement in the adult porn industry, teenagers are not fully developed mentally to make such a life altering decision such as this. It is those that lure them and manipulate them that I have the problem with for they are no different than pedophiles, rapists and pimps. In most cases that is exactly what they are.

Adolescence is the age of changes in the body's changes and at the same time the curiosity and the awakening of the sexual urge. Hence pornography among teenagers are common.

The main cause is that they want to know more about sex and pornography is much easier to get hold of than the real thing. It also allows them to learn more without having to admit that they are inexperienced. Boys often overstate their sexual experience, and might be embarrassed to ask a girl questions about sex, so it's easier to find out from magazines.

It's also a lot safer!

Well depending on the age of the "teenager" it could be just the fact that they are dealing with new hormones and the "feelings" that they bring to them.

Curiosity is a natural thing, but it can get out of hand if not watched carefully.

the internet, like all those kids on irc searching for pr0n. Back in the day you actually had to go search around and find your dad's hidden stash of playboys, now you just go download it off of kazaa or something like that. Kids have it so much easier these days, trying to think how my father, grandfather, etc, could have made it through their teenage years without the internet, man that's a question that needs answering.

Here are the 3 main causes:

#1 - Nudity

#2 - Camera

#3 - Money

Without those three it'd never happen. ;)
