It is not a sin to be Gay.
You don't go to Hell for being Gay.
It is a sin to have sex outside of a heterosexual Marriage in which the husband and wife are open to having children as a result of their lovemaking.
It is a disordered use of the sex organs that God gave us, outside of a Committed Marriage. For Catholics the Marriage needs to be blessed by the Church. The Marriage needs to be open to bearing children as a result of every sexual act.
It is a sin to have sex outside of Marriage. It is a sin to masturbate. You see, it's not picking on Gays,
It's God's way or the highway.
So therefore if someone is Gay and abstains from sex or masturbation or from looking lustfully at someone, Then they do not sin.
The Same for a heterosexual, Sex only after the Church Blesses the Man and Wife in marriage and then each & every act of sexual stimulation, is open to the possibility of Chldren.
Natural Family Planning is the only thing which is allowed to regulate the timing of pregnancy for important reasons and only for a time. (By the way this works well, contrary to some who are uneducated in the method) Also known as NFP.
So if you are Gay or Single, The rule is the same.
The only way it's OK to be sexually Active is between a Husband and Wife, and able to create a baby or NFP.
God Bless You, ;-)

I've heard that some Pentecostal Christians believe being gay is a sin because it is a plot of Satan to end the human race. I'm being serious. Other than that, the Bible says it is. So yes, assuming that Christianity is right, you would go to hell for it, unless you accepted Jesus, which somehow makes everything OK, but at the same time you shouldn't do bad things...
Doesn't make much sense.

Most Christian religions consider the Ten Commandments set forth in the Bible to be the foundation of "unacceptable sins". The Ten Commandments do not single out "gays". The Commandments do admonish those who "covet thy neighbors wife or male or female slave".
It is my understanding that those who will suffer in "Hell", are those who have no respect for human life and promote the destruction of the human spirit.

I was just thinking about that the other day and discussed it with couple Christian friends. One of them holding a very strong ground that there is only hell for gay and lesibian; while another was much more understanding and admiting that she doesn't have the best answer for this issue.
But she doesn't agree that we should point our finger to gay and tell them that there is only hell for them. I have the same point of view with her.
We are not God and we are not perfect, it is God who judge on the final day. We ought to practice love and understanding more than making quick judgement. This is my thought.

I dont really know if it is a sin or not. That is not for humans to decide, it is up to God.
I believe that love is inspired and empowered by God. With this in mind, I feel like homosexuality is not a sin because God is the one that made that person fall in love with someone of the same sex.
If that answers your question.

I dont believe that it is a sin. God created each person to be perfect in their own individual way. He doesnt make mistakes. Why would he create hundreds of thousands of gay people, if they were just destined to go to hell because of who they love?
