Yes we do.

It was illustrated by psychologist Stanley Milgram in his famous "Obedience to Authority" experiment. He set up a study where participants were told that they were going to be working with another person. The object of the study was to determine memory.

The 'teacher' (real test subject) and the 'student' (in on the experiment) would work together to get the student to remember a list of words. The teacher would sit in front of a panel marked from 0 to 450 XXX. The teacher was told that he was to read a list of words that the subject was to read back. For every mistake, the teacher was to administer a shock by pressing a button on the panel.

The number of people who went all the way to 450 was amazing. Check out further details of the study at the link below.

I think the tendency depends on the asker and the way they ask. If it's a person v have a connection with like a friend, we are more likely to obey. If it's a stanger, we hesitate.
How they ask is a factor as well. If they use ' please' we might feel like complying. But if they are rude, no way!

When he/she tell us that the thing we are going to do it's not our responsibility...it's his/hers responsibility. He or she is the authority and has all the blame for our actions...so we obey that person and we can do horrible things just because we won't take the blame for it.
Remember Hitler? Many of his SS soldiers were ehtical, calm people who loved their families etc. No-one could ever imagine that these people could do these horrible crimes. But they did it...just because the authority (Hitler) put a pressure on them, and managed to convice them that it won't be their fault if they did whatever he ordered them to do.
When someone else is taking responsibility for our actions, then it's easy for us to comply and obey...someone else is going to take the blame you see.

depends on the request... miltary rules: always obey the command before complaining.... business rules: comply the order, no complaining.... teacher's rule: follow the instructions, if you don't you fail.... a politician's rule: follow my wishes, how much do you need?.... a coach's rule: follow my instruction, you don't, i'll trade you off... a friend's rule, follow me please, no one else wants to....

oftentimes, these scenarios comes everyday... and we comply because it's our nature, our instincts.... like a given. maybe because we're only human, and out of respect, we often obey before we react....
