One is Intel Pentium 4 3.20 GHz. And another one is Intel Pentium D (Dual Core) 3.06GHz. The bus speed is the same, 1066GHz. Eveything is the same apart from the processor. Which one is faster?

Pentium D is mainly for multitasking. If you run several applications simultaneously very often, Pentium D will perform better

Dual Core............... It actually has 2 cores, ergo............ 2 processors. You will have 2 3.06GHz rather than 1 3.20GHz. But........... there's always a but.......... if you are not a big multitasker, you probably won't need the dual core. Another but though......... software manufacturers are creating their programs to run on dual core so that it will work faster. So yea to answer your question.......... 2 cores are better than 1 core.
