Yes, my husband and I have been dancing both socially and competitively for 6 years. Before that I had dance experience, but my husband didn't know a step.
We do all the American ballroom styles with each other and with our instructors.
Smooth: Waltz, Fox Trot, Tango, Viennese Waltz
Rhythm: Rumba, Cha Cha, Swing
We find people really appreciate a couple who can dance. Anywhere we go that has dancing, people approach us when we get off the floor to tell us how much they enjoyed watching us. We were even acknowledged by the cruise director at the Captain's welcome party for our dancing a few years ago.
Couples dancing doesn't have to be a lost art, we just need men to realize how romantic and sexy it makes them. Chicks dig guys that can dance.

Yes, I know how to dance in a couple.
Thank you for your compliments, but this art isn't lost. You can learn it too, if you want. You can go to a dance studio, or maybe to a college ballroom dance team and learn it too.
Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Vienneeze Walts, Quickstep
Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive, Paso Doble
Hustle, Swing, Lindy Hop

Alas, I have long since forgotten how to couples dance since my hubby won't dance with me (and doesn't know how even if he would) :( But at one time I did know how to tango, foxtrot, waltz, square dance (not particularily proud of that so maybe everyone should forget I mentioned that one), and swing. I do know several types of solo dances though. As a child I learned ballet, tap, and jazz but I didn't enjoy them much so I don't really do them much myslef. But, I do bellydance, at one point professionally but now just in my home to make sure I have enough time to raise my two young children. I hope to get back to a more active dance life when they are older though. I do still maintain my website for anyone who wants to learn more about bellydancing you can check it out

yes, almost anything. Coming from Dominican parents it's kind of natural to be into dancing.
