Hi, i have a windows xp computer and out of the blue it suddenly restarts. It could restart anywhere from 10 to 1 hour after turning it on. Anyone know why? or whats wrong with it?

I dont know much about computers, but i know that my computer has a anti-virus program(called norton internet security) as for old? its about 2 yrs old. I will check the plugs but im pretty sure its all connected. Oh and it restarts anywhere between 10 minutes or 1 hour after turning on the computer.

On the other hand, it may be that you are trying to run to many applications on your system. Shut some of that crap down and see if the prob goes away! I have a neighbor who does that. Has an older system and tries to run everything but the kitchen sink.

Various reasons as I can think of-

Does it have proper power connection?
Does the RAM support things u have loaded/installed?
Mother Board and items installed in tune?
Power fluctuations!
How old is it?

Yes, most likely, it has a faulty power supply. You need to replace it. The part costs about $30-$50. don't do it if you don't know how. ask a techie.
