Is there such a thing? Free scan or trials will be okay.

I agree, AVG is a good free antivirus program...you can also try an online scan (most will remove malware, but these are online only) from most of the major companies, including Symantec (Norton), McAfee, and others. My preferences are Bit Defender, Trend Micro and Kaspersky Labs, all of which are faster than Norton.
In addition to antivirus, you should also have antispy & trojan software...the best free products I know are Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D (use the advanced mode and install Tea Timer for resident protection), SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster (both from Javacool Software..very small and efficient programs), and Windows Defender (Microsoft, also resident protection). In addition, A-Squared Free is a very good program that searches for Trojans and traces other programs might miss. To the best of my knowledge (I use XP at home and on most of the workstations at work, and some of them still have 2000), all these programs should work on 2000 Server.

check cnet.com or download.com is pretty good for programs like that, some are free or free to try.
