actually i dont like the booting and shut down delays. so every night, instead of shutting down, i send my laptop to standby mode. and in morning when i have to work, i simply bring it back from standby mode. is it harming any component of my laptop in any way?

No, it won't hurt it. Just make sure it's on a flat surface so it doesn't overheat. I think it's a good idea to shut it down and restart it every now and then. Also make sure you have it plugged in so the battery doesn't die.

It is not really harmful but as a result your battery might die faster. After about 2 years you usually have to replace the battery and this reduces the battery life. Apart from that there is no problems.

If its on battery power the battery will die, other wise the computer should be fine as it shuts off the Harddrive, monitor, and such. Only the motherboard really stays on and any external thing you may have plugged in such as a flashdrive.

No its not harmful ... think the computer manufactures made the standby mode .. so its safe to use

Not really but i think it's better to shut it down.
If you want the start up process to go faster, try to reduce the start up component of your laptop

it's not harmful, but you will wake up in the morning with a dead battery unless you leave it on AC power overnight

no. it uses a little battery juice (if unplugged from the outlet), but that's about it.
