The patriot act is extremely vague and if the democrats win both houses and the presidency they could interpret the owning of certain guns or unlicensed guns as a threat to national security, this probably won't happen but you got to always look at the different possibilities of the future.
what do you think?

the patriot says that certain rights can be ignore(i.e. 2nd amendment can be ignored) for security reasons.

I think any governing body would certainly get a lot of flack if they tried to impose the patriot act on gunowners. There will always be guns in our country, legally and illegally. We need our guns to protect ourselves, and nobody better take that away.

Nah, the Demo's have gotten the message re: gun owners - even Algae the Green Guy says he would have been elected President of the United States in 2000 if he hadn't blown the "gun vote".

Except for the wackos (and their wackjob buds in the mainstream media), the Dems have thrown in the towel on the whole gun thing. Although, I admit, their troops in the field haven't yet all gotten the word.

I am much more afraid of Real ID. The Patriot act paved the way for Real ID.

What really scares me is how the government and knee jerk reactionist have totally forgotten the Bill of Rights. So much for "land of the free..."

If people are in favor of giving up any rights, i.e. the right to privacy or free speech or warrant less wiretaps they deserve to loose all their rights. Gun owners don't seem to mind when others rights are trampled on (in the interest of fighting terrorism)but they get awful up-set when someone says wants to register firearms or ammo sales in the interest of fighting terrorism. You can't have it both ways, you either protect all our rights or you loose them all.

I have the right to arm bears....or something like that. No one is going to take away my rights. I vote in every election, local and otherwise. Do not be afraid, be vocal, be active, and participate in the process. I was ashamed of the voter turnout in the last major elections. We can do better. We the people....remember that. Peace to you and yours.

I think buy unregistered guns and you won't have to worry if they do that or not
