Love is our eternal nature just as Love is the eternal nature of the omnipotent Supreme Personality of Godhead.
It is almost like asking are we forced to be alive?
When you say omnipotent being I would assume you mean the Supreme God.

If it was truly omnipotent, then sure. It could just tweak your brain and *poof*! You could be madly in love with whatever it felt like making you love. Best hope this omnipotent being doesn't have a malicious sense of humor....
If a non-omnipotent being wanted to make you love something, it would either trick you into loving it (if the being was clever and evil), convince you thru normal discourse (if the being was clever and good), or coerce you into loving it (if the being was stupid and evil).
If it wanted to use coercion to, say, make you love its mortal son which it conceived with some married woman who still thought she was a virgin, then maybe it might threaten you with eternal pain and torture if you reject him or his son. After a while you might decide that putting in the effort to believe that you love that thing might be better than taking the chance of eternal agony. Your kids, in turn, might then love it for no other reason than that was the environment they were raised in. Think about it: how many people choose a religion different from their parents'?

Love is a chemical reaction of the brain triggered by something (the omniputent being, objet or person in question). If the omniputent being is strong enough to brain wash you then yes if not then no. Unless this thing is that strong you cant be forced to love it.

I assume with all the big words and such, you are referring to God. The God I worship (who's son is named Jesus) gives me the power of choice. That is what seperates humans from animals. By that power of choice, I don't have to love anything or anyone that I choose not to.

This is an interesting link....it's long but interesting nonetheless.
I think the opening sentence is great and most likely the best answer to your question...of course this purely speculation and opinion.

There's no force.
God gave us free will. We choose to love, it isn't forced upon us. God hopes we make the right choices, but He loves us even when we make mistakes.
