you "need" a car? for what? I got my license thru a training course and didn't have a car till I was 35.

My car that I have now cost me $300 and I put work into it and it's a good car. I figure if you put in 100 hours of work or had your parents loan you $300 you could get a car AND learn to work on it and make yourself some money.

In addition, the cost of gas is high right now and going higher so you probably couldn't afford to drive it anyway, and certainly not on $7 an hour.

there arent too many jobs that a 16 year old can get... try places like jiffy lube or tire places if your a male.. they usually pay at least 6 an hour but as a minor chances are you will only be allowed to clean the shop.....
also subway and places like that (firehouse subs) generally pay a little bit more than say like mcdonalds....

you probably need a work permit but, you can legally work at 16. you just need to find a job! Try places like fast food and departmernt stores. ( cart attendant is a good place to start)

No experiance at anything yet?
Try Mcdonalds, or any fast food chain... this will give you enough experiance to get a waiter job, where you can make tips...Busboys also make tips I do believe in the States...

I would reccomend trying to get a job at one of the Kroger stores near where you live. The company seems to treat you fairly well and I started out at $6.60/hr... most new hirees, at least for my star, are hiring in at about $6.80/hr.
