They will induce your labor, which, by the way, does'nt always work. They induced my labor, and I was in hard labor for 24 hours, and did'nt progress past 3 centimeters, so the doctor broke my water, which still did'nt make it progress. So, basically, induction is fine, but if it does'nt progress as fast as they'd like, DO NOT let them break your water! If they break your water, they have to do a c-section after 24hours, because infection can set in, which I did'nt know.I didn't even know induction doesn't always work, even though I read every book I could get my hands on.

Are you going to the doctor at all? I mean I have never heard of a doctor letting a person go 10 and half months and not delivered. It is something I have never heard of. They will induce the labor and use suppositories to soften your cervex to make it dilate with some tools they have to do that with and you will have your baby at about 9 months 3 wks tops.
Have you had an ultrasound done to see if you are as far along as you thought you are. Could you have been mistaken about your dates?
This is not normal, I don;t think you have been to a doctor at all. You better get yourself to a doctor as soon as possible and find out what the deal is. You may have a problem and are putting yourself and your child in danger of some serious medical complications. Go very soon. to a medical facility and tell them how far along you are. and they will help you to deliver a healthy baby and you will be okay also. Please.

IT depends , you will either have csec or be induced.

They will induce you if the baby'head is engaged ( has descended) otherwise it wont always work , you will end up having all the labour pains and Csec which is the worst case.

But there are babies that never descent until the labour starts
( naturally) and are vaginally born after a longer labour.

Or you could have an elective Csec. which is better than an emergency one.
I had one . Head was not engaged and the doc told me there is a high possibility I would end up having a csec if I get induced .
I didnt want to get induced so I chose Csec which went a lot better than I thought!!!!

Dont be scared , make informed dessisions and be open to other options

First of all there is nothing to worry about so don't panic. I would however go to the hospital for a general exam. A biometric profile (fetal breathing movements, fetal movements, fetal muscle tone, amniotic fluid index, and a fetal heart tracing or nonstress test). Then I would ask about an elective cesarean section. If you would prefer a spontaneous vaginal delivery then I would get a Bishop's score (baby's station, cervical dialtion, cervical effacement, cervical position, cervical firmness) evaluated and then try for augmentation of labor. Ask about either an amniotomy (artifical rupture of membranes), misoprostol, or pitocin. Good luck.

they induce you... I went to 41 wks and 5 days. the baby can't survive much longer in the womb after 42 weeks because the placenta and uterus can't support the baby...and the baby is very cramped in there.

You will be induced after the doctor does a stress test on the baby.

Most doctors will induce you because it is believed that the placenta begins to degrade and there is an increased risk to the baby.
