We bought one from family value (cheap shop) it overheated within a day and packed in. But it was good for the shower cubicle (not the grouting, well only to a certain degree) it was good for cleaning the fish tank, the algae didn't come back so quick, the units in the kitchen came up good. we are waiting for the penguin one to come from ideal world (not so eager after seeing the answers here)
I use bleach and bicarbonate of soda to clean my grouting, it comes up great, but you do need to be careful of the fumes.

I bought my mum one. Its a Karcher model and it cost about £70-80. Its got several attachments for different jobs, she loves it, she uses it on windows, cupboards, tiles, everything get steamed in her house!
I would recommend spending more than £30 on one if you're going to buy one as it sounds like the cheaper models just spit out hot water rather than steam.
Hope this helps!

Problem with that idea is you could loosen the glue holding down the tiles (besides the fact that it doesn't work). Soak it in bleach ans water mix first, rinse well, then unfortunately you will have to scrub. Rinse again, and you are all set. I do it every 6-8months.

Yes I have...I bought one some months ago...and it's brilliant!! Don't know how I coped before I got a steam cleaner. It's also brill to clean the floors.....bathroom suite, alloys on my car......it's not an industrial one....but it's not one of those cheap portable ones either!!!
I'd recommend one....but that's my opinion.

The cheaps ones are next to useless. You may as well just use a kettle.
Spend about £400 on a proper one and you will see the benefits.

I have one my mom bought me (as seen on TV) and I don't mind telling you it's worthless. It's not good for anything but getting things wet and somewhat hot, not really clean at all. It's a time-wasting mess.

Theyare very good, we use one here in Spain, and all our floors and the walls of the bathroom and kitchen are all tiles, keeps them nice and clean.

I bought one that looked like a penguin from QVC. It was useless and all it achived was to soak everything in steam. So don't buy one.
