I was thinking of getting one on my lower back at the waist...but does it hurt badly in that area? Where is the least painful area to put a tatoo? I heard that if there is a lot of fat in the area you want it on, that it is less painful...is that true? Thanks ...

I wasn't trying to get a "tramp stamp" as someone put it. My husband made the comment that he like the tatoos he's seen on women who had them on the lower back. I just didn't want it placed where it was seen all the time. And since I don't wear skimpy clothes, no one but my husband would really see it. I didn't know it was so frowned upon on the lower back. Maybe I will reconsider. Thanks.

Well I don't really think that the lower back in the centre is really a place where there is lots of fat (that apparently won't hurt).... Anywhere you get a tattoo will hurt. But I do know what you mean! I always thought it would be a neat idea to get a cute lil red heart on my a** like a carebear LOL ... I am however getting a waterlilly kinda on my hip but kinda on my a**... more in the back though. I wouldn't want one on my lower back, seems like every girl out there does the same stuff.

LOL ... Love the lil nicknames there "sl ut spot" and "tramp stamp" lol EEK ;)

look, i love ladies with tattoos, but i would suggest trying a different place, maybe even just higher on the back, or neck. And about the pain, bassicaly theres gonna be a needle going in and out of the spot, so theres bound to be some pain. Drag like a paperclip over the area and imagine having that done for a hour or so (depending on the size of the tat) that should at least give you an idea of whether or not you can take it

I haven't heard that and I would never have the experience. I do not believe in defiling the body. Yes, it will hurt. You are punching ink into holes made in the skin! It will bleed and you need to be careful not to get it infected. That is way too much trouble.

Were there is bone hurts the most if you call it pain. It feels more hot then painfull. if your skinny your lower back will be fine accept right near the spine.

tatoos hurt us
it is a wound done on our skin which stay permanently on our skin
and wounds are bound to hurt us irrespective of having fat or not

any way all the best
