OK so this girl i knew from work we've known each other for almost 5 years now and i dont really talk to her that much cuz we don't work together anymore but she invited me to her baby shower and her best friend is throwing it and her best friend had a baby a year ago which i didn't attend the baby shower cuz we didnt get along but now i have to go get something for her...how much should i spend?

If you don't want to spend much, get her a small compilation of gifts-my co-worker did this for me.
get a small basket and put a bunch of different travel items for baby-shampoo, diaper rash, lotion, baby wipes, powder, comb, etc. and a cute sleeper
you end up spending about $10, but there's a bunch of items so you don't look cheap

I would say spend like $25, if you want just get her a stuffed animal and a card.
If you know what the mother likes get her something, people tend to forget the mother. Or just buy her a card and add like a gift card so either she can wait until the baby is born and buy what she needs or she can buy something she likes that no one got her. (I enjoyed this the most from my baby shower.)

Since you're not that close, it doesn't need to be much. Do you know the baby's gender? You can get her a couple pairs of shoes or clothes. You can get her a 20-30 dollar gift card to babies-r-us or target or wal mart...there's also like these gift baskets for babies at wal mart, target, babies r us, etc...and a get a card along with it....

Give her a $15-20 gift card. She can get what she needs and you don't need to rack your brain or wallet for that perfect gift for someone you don't have on speed dial.

Get her pampers and wipies. Every mom would appreciate that. That's what they spend the majority of there money on for the new baby.

go to like walmart.... they have premade gifts all in a box and everything .. they have lots of stuff in it too and its under 20 bucks
