I avoid ironing like the plague. I used to let things pile up for weeks because I didn't want to have to iron them. Finally discovered a few things:
1. Getting things out of the dryer IMMEDIATELY, and hanging them up right away prevents wrinkles on many clothes.
2. Dryer sheets help with wrinkles as much as with static.
3. If you forget to empty the dryer, or put off hanging stuff up, put them back in with a wet towel and run the dryer again.
4. Sometimes, leaving the clothes heaped in the basket leaves such heavy wrinkles that you have to rewash at least some of them and try again to remember to get them right out of the dryer.
5. Hanging dressy stuff in the bathroom and running the shower with hot water a while often helps.
6. There are some things that just have to be ironed... how do you feel about paying the dry cleaner to do the ironing that can't be avoided?
I haven't had to iron anything in months... most of it can be avoided unless one is really finicky about perfectly smooth fabric. :)

I hate ironing too. I don't own clothes that require ironing. I don't have a job that requires ironed clothes. T-shirts and flannel shirts come straight out of the dryer and onto a hanger. Pants get air-dried and then tumble-dried in the dryer on low with a fabric softener sheet, then folded or hung immediately. You can use Dryel to dry-clean at home. Good luck!

I never iron...not unless I have a really special occasion. Get in the habit of using dryer sheets, and then folding your clothes as soon as they're done drying...before they ever get wrinkled. If you hang up your shirts, you shouldn't have to iron them. You can buy some Downy Wrinkle Releaser for a few bucks at Wal-mart, and for any persistent wrinkles, just spray, smooth, and let dry.

Where I live we hang them on a clothes line in the fresh air. I don't iron unless absolutely necessary. Try hanging them on coat hangers when you put them on the clothes line and always hang them up regardless of how many wrinkles there are. The pressure from the other clothes in the wardrobe will flatten them.

Get a spray bottle of water and spray to dampen. Or just take it out of the washer wet and then take it into the bathroom on a hanger when you are taking a shower. The steam from the shower will get rid of the wrinkles. Use a fabric softener in your wash or vinegar to relax the fibers of the material on the item also.

I NEVER iron. I just put clothes in the dryer and toss in a damp rag, and that seems to take care of any wrinkles.

When you get your cloths out of the dryer. Hurry up and shake them out and hang them up as straight as possible. While they are still warm. If you just throw them in the cloths basket and Wait till later when they cool off they will be wwrinkledd as hell. Sometimes if I forget. I throw a shirt that I am going to wear in the dryer for a minute shake it out hang it up. Right before I go out. As long as the material is warm it will not rinkle up as bad.

Dryer sheets, take them straight out of the dryer and hang them up right away. Purchase "wrinkle free" clothes.

i agree with all of the above. but i am IN LOVE with Downey Wrinkle Releaser. i abhor things that are smelly and can't use dryer sheets because of my allergies. with the DWR, you hang your shirt, spray it (don't soak it), pull down and across, then smooth with your hand. it's a Godsend! i've sent my kids to college with it, have used it since it came out and don't iron anymore unless i need creases.
