Anne Rice has written a whole series of vampire books - very interesting ones. Your bookstore should know about her books - OR - go to the web site for Amazon.com - then go to the book section there and type in the word : 'vampire'.
And of course there is always the all time classic book by the author, Bram Stoker :
'Dracula"

I just finished reading two novels by Kim Harrison-"Good Witch Walking" and" The Good, the Bad and the Undead", it's not really a vampire romance novel but it is about a Witch who's partner is a vampire. I loved both books and am now in the process of trying to acquire the other two books in this series. These books have witches ,vampires, werewolves, demons and lots of action, there's romance and it's also very funny.

Definitely the chronicles on Lestat, the vampire, by Anne Rice! 2 of the books in the series, namely "Interview with the Vampire" & "Queen of the damned" were made into movies. The first one was done up quite nicely but the movie for the second one did not do justice to the book. Anyhow, the chronicles had really interesting perspectives of vampires, a far-cry from the classic "Dracula".

L.J Smith's Night World series. It's not just vampires but also werewolves, witches, shapeshifter's etc but they are REALLY good. The first one is called Secret Vampire. Go to the website below as well for some other ideas.

I definitely agree on the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. If you're under 18 make sure you talk to your parents aout reading them, especially when you get into the later novels. But it's a great series. If you're curious about them, head over to the author's webpage or just search for her on Amazon.

I highly recommend the Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I have read all 9 at least twice now and can't wait for her latest!!! I also recomment J. R. Ward's "Black-Dagger Brotherhood" novels. Both of these writers have a wonderful way of telling their stories, the characters continue on in the continuing stories, and they really come alive (ha ha). They both make you wishing you could find your own Dark Hunter!!!
