I know that some of it has to do with attracting men, but that can't possibily explain it all. Why are so many women obsessed with the dumbest things like shoes and eyelashes?

This is an interesting question in a time when men primp more and more as well. Men are getting manicures and pedicures, styling their hair, getting facials...they even have concealer (makeup!) for men.
It isn't about women being obsessed with their appearances as much as society in general. Everyone wants to be more beautiful, more perfect, and sadly, the beauty ideals change just like trends do. If we could all look inward instead of at our imperfect bellies or thighs, the world would be a better place.

Because people in hollywood have decided for the rest of us that women need to be anorexic thin with a perfect face all the time. They have made items such as clothes and shoes that cost under $100 appear to be low class. The world is being corrupted by ignorent people who only care about the outside when it's the inside that truly matters

It is a disease of woman!! Since it was said that woman can not ask boy out, they became obsess to charm the guy to be asked out. Yet, it became the disease of us!!
