How is it you can use the internet to get to this web site but yet not stop at the "search" line and type in allusion+shakespeare. Do that and you'll get www.able2know.com/forums/about3128-60.html as an example (and many more with additional words \ rephrasing of items being searched)

The sheer volume of the answers is staggering, so start your search now and find names of books and films you are familiar with that will suit your needs.

Do not confuse ALLUSION ( a quick scene or dialogue reminiscent of another story like the story of the evil 'uncle' killing the king and taking over the kingdom in Lion King is similar to Hamlet) to REVISION (such as a moderization of the story - like 10 Things I Hate About You is a modern Taming of the Shrew) or a PARODY (Reduced Shakespeare Company does an amazing job making all of Shakespeare's works seem like comedies).

Off the top of my head, Wyrd Sisters by Terry Prachett (part of the Discworld Series) is based on Macbeth. The title of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley comes from The Tempest.

If you look up the individual plays, you'll be more likely to find something.
