Guns don't kill people, people kill people. True or False? Why? I want a good reason behind your answer!!!

Before guns existed people killed people. They just found a better way with the gun because you don't have to be as close and take a chance that you might be killed first. But with the gun also came the increased capacity as it was much easier to accomplish the task. If we took away guns there might even be more killing. For example some that might come to my house to do me harm may now be afraid because I have lots of guns.

It's not as simple as a true/false type answer. Both kill, a gun will kill if the person pulls the trigger. I compare people with guns to people with pit-bull dogs and rottweilers. Ya see these young guys mostly get these dogs that have violent tendencies, granted not all will ever attack people but the possibility is there. So anyway theses guys get these dogs as like a show of manhood, ya know like a right of passage. What cracks me up is when these young bucks can't control that animal anymore because they ain't got a clue as to how to handle a dog like that in the first place. I have to say I love it when their dumb-asses get bit, not so good for the dog though, because we all know what happens to them after the fact. So basically it all falls back on man. Man created guns in the first place. I hope this was a good answer.

I'll try to answer your question from my perspective. I have been shot, in 1988, badly. I also am a gun owner. I have also been in a car accident.Blaming the gun is the same as blaming the car. Sorry it is the driver of both.
If someone really cares they would look at the national statistics that show the number of violent crimes stopped by the private ownership of guns. Might just get a surprise. Plus New York city and has the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, as does DC. Look at the gun crime rates. Banning does not stop anything.Drugs, prostitution, alcohol for minors?

Of course it's true. It's not like guns are the only way to kill a person. People kill people. Plain and simple. They don't have to use a gun. There are all kinds of ways. You just never hear people say knives kill people or poison kills people or hammers or blunt objects or fists or cars because they don't. It's the people behind the objects that kill people. People kill people in any way they happen to do it. It just depends on their weapon of choice.

True. Weapons (ie. guns) are only instruments which people use in the commision of a crime. During the stone ages, people uses a stone axe for hunting and in the extreme situation, uses it as weapon to kill the opponent. Weapons are made by man with a purpose. It is either for good or for bad. For good, LEO and military are using it to preserve peace and order, while the other use it merely for personal reasons even if it is against the law.

I never really liked the guns kill/ don't kill/ people argument .
I am not for gun control , its a emotional issue that is really weak when you consider that more people die from cars than guns.
Take a look at how many people died on the highways ever year and the risk associated with our roads and then compare how many gun death occur in America .
