why does my yahoo mail screen continually (for the past 2 days) say page not available?

I can get onto yahoo help, instant messenger but not yahoo mail

First of all, are you doing a hard refresh when you try? (holding down shift and the refresh button)

Clean out your browser's history and cache.
Reset your computer.
Reset your Modem.
Scan your computer for viruses and spyware (there are free programs like AVG, spybot, adaware)
Defrag your computer.

If that doesn't work, or you're open to trying it - get Firefox.

Internet Explorer is slow, big, insecure, lets nasties in and is severely out of date.
Firefox is sleek, faster, more secure, keeps nasties out, it blocks pop-ups (and with one free add-on blocks banner ads, iframe ads...) is up to date AND to standards... it's also very customizable... and the icon's cool.

If you want to know the truth about firefox then read this. This site shows all the lies about it. It is not the great browser these people keep pushing. Some of these people are actually paid to get on sites like this and keep pushing you to get firefox.
