I am 18 weeks pregnant, and I am experiencing a really bad pain in my right side, right where my hip is, almost in the crease where my hip meets my leg. Is this normal??? Should I be concerned??
I have had this pain for almost 3 days now, and it is starting to get worse and making it difficult to walk...

I have a doctors appointment for in the morning. I was just wondering...
I haven't lifted anything at all, and I haven't gained much weight, just 5 or 6 pounds.

If you're concerned, it's wise to ask your medical provider. There are causes to sharp pain during pregnancy that are normal, such as a pinched nerve caused by the baby's position. Also, I experienced something else that is normal with varying degrees of pain: the muscles around the uterus have to stretch and pull as your baby grows, and sometimes you feel sharp pain as this happens. I experienced pretty frequent sharp stabbing pain, but nothing was wrong.
But all said, with pain as you're describing, I'd go into the doctor. It's always better to catch a problem right away so that it doesn't get worse.

sounds like a hernia. I would say the weight of the baby BUT that happends when you are further along. Have you lifted anything heavy or strained recently. Yea go to the DOCTOR. Sounds like a hernia or a pulled muscle. Good luck

Ask your doctor...when your pregnant you will experience things with your body that you never have before. Pains will come out of no where and pains you've had to deal with your whole life may disappear during your pregnancy.
I've had chronic knee pain and swelling as long as i can remember..but while i was pregnant with my son i all of a sudden realized that my knees didnt hurt at all...ever, and you'd think they would hurt more with the extra weight, but they didnt....until 2 months after i had my son.My eye sight changed too, you are told to go to the eye doc while pregnant because of all the pressure in your body, your eye sight can get worse during pregnancy...well mine got better during pregnancy, my eye doc was confused, i am near sighted but when my eye doc saw me in my 6th month of pregnancy he looked confused and said "your not near sighted anymore?" He said if he were to tell someone what my eye sight was like, he would say 20/20. Then of course afterwards my eye sight went to crap again and I was near sighted once again.
Still, ask your doc about it but things will happen with your body that your not gonna expect...

you should go to the hospital and see what's wrong. the baby could be shifting and that wouldn't be good. I'd go to the emergency room as soon as i could. just to make sure the baby is okay.
