It depends on whether I'm in a hurry or not. Sometimes I'm in no hurry to get somewhere and I like to look around at the scenery. I live in a really beautiful area. Other times, I might be running late for an appointment or just in a general rush and I'd like to go as fast as I can.
I remember driving 90mph on the highway in New Mexico during a vacation. Long, flat, boring stretches of desert there, but 90mph felt right.
It would be great if different lanes had different speed limits on long stretches so everyone can do their own thing.

Probably not more than 75 miles per hour. It's said that after a certain rate of speed (I forgot what it is), going faster is actually LESS fuel-efficient, and can add up to a big waste of gas. I'm not sure how this works, but I remember it stuck out in my mind.
Another thing that sticks in my mind is the saying "speed kills". The faster you're going, the worse the impact is going to be when you hit something, be it another car, a guardrail, a tree, or even a person. Combine this with the fact that cars get harder and harder to CONTROL at very high speeds, and you have a real recipe for disaster, especially since the "average" car is not built to handle well at very high speeds.
So, at the risk of sounding like a boring, over-cautious person (LOL - fine with me!), I doubt I'd drive more than 75 mph -- or at the most, 80 mph. I hope the reasons I've given above make at least some sense, because they really are important to think about if you care about your life. :)

There is a speed limit (60 or 65...maybe 70?), but 80 seems to be the speed of choice for the highways here.

Ok well, most of the time I ignore the speed limit anyway and usually tend to go about 65 or 70 on the highway....not that bad.

I'm usually comfortable between 80 - 85 even with a speed limit.

I'd go at the speed of the majority of other cars. It's safer that way. It would also depend on the car that I have. In the Ford Escort I had now, I wouldn't drive over 80 for long periods of time.

I`ve driven at sustained speeds of 140 mph much faster than that would start to get a little sketchy for me.
