I personally don't believe God made me that way, it was in my gene pool, my parents made me that way, my enviroment made me that way, or any of the other more common explinations. In fact, I'm not sure what made me a lesbian other than me just being true to who I am. I'm 44, and have been out of the closet since I was 20. ......and coming out wasn't so wellcome back in 1982.

You and I have almost the same ideas, but I KNOW God made me gay. Scientist have proven that our sexuality is genetic and if it is genetic and I am a Child of God, which I KNOW I am then my God created me the way I am. I also know that my God does not create junk therefore, I am absolutely, positively, unequivocally, perfect just the way I am. My pastor knows it, my friends know it and so do I! BTW I am 54 and came out in 1979 while serving aboard the U.S. Navy's USS Waddell, DDG-2 That was a rough coming out party LOL.
God Bless!

I am not trying to be insulting, but I do find it interesting that you say that "God did not make you this way", but go on to say "it was in my gene pool, my parents made me that way... etc" How exactly does God make a human being if it is not exactly as you said?
Regardless, you were born this way as we all were. It is just how we are.
Most scientists agree that it is unlikely that there is a single "gay gene" that determines something as complex as sexual orientation, and that it is more likely to be the result of a number of biological factors. Many also agree that social and environmental factors intersect with biology to produce sexual orientation, while many strongly believe that sexual orientation is purely biological and inborn.

Honey, I'm 57 and I came out in about 1974(it wasn't easy then---i tried the suicide route etc)..and I still have no idea why I'm gay....It might be my gene pool...I have a cousin who is gay..and an uncle that I suspect was gay...but who knows...I'm not spending any more time wondering why I am..I'm just gonna have a good time along the way

I personally feel I was born the way I am. no influences, environmental or otherwise for me. I didn't know anyone growing up, friends/family that was openly gay. and I never met anyone that was gay until long after I realized I was. genetic? God made the way I am? combination of both? I know it was NOT a choice, I just am.

I know I was born gay, so I lean toward genetic disposition. Science is proving it along the way. God does not make junk, so I am perfectly content being gay and it is not a deficiency at all. It is one of my assets.
