Depending on the construction of the radiator, you may be able to have it cleaned and or re-cored at a radiator shop, or you may want to replace it. Check on line, you can get radiators fairly cheaply, if you are willing to wait a couple of days for them to be shipped.

I have had good luck with http://www.radiatorbarn.com/ and http://www.outlawradiator.com/

check the price of a new radiator first, depending what type of car you have. if it is a chevy and you have a copper and brass radiator you can buy new fairly cheap, around $150.00 verses your old one that will dry rot if it sets to long with no fluid in it. to have it cleaned properly it needs to be taken to a radiator shop dipped in a hot tank to remove all paint and dirt from the outside, it will loosen some dirt on the inside, a tank will have to be removed and a process called rodding will have to be done to insure all the tubes are clean and flow properly, depending on how dirty the radiator is they may have to pull both tanks to remove all of the sediment, if it is a cross flow radiator price range varies. in oklahoma you will pay $65.00 to $90.00 to have one cleaned if they pull one tank and another $40.00 if they pull both tanks

usually to get it clean, a shop will hot tank it, so unless you take it in, or have a tub big enough to hold the radiator, and add 200+ degree water, you can hook a hose to it and flush it, but all the stuff won't come out, the best thing to do is just to take it in and have it hot tanked.

Find a radiator shop in your area. Pull the radiator, drop it off to them and they can dip it in a acid bath to remove anything that is built up inside.

Do yourself a favor and replace the radiator. Its a common practice among rebuilders to do this. If you don't, you may harm the newly rebuilt motor. It's like taking a dump, and not wiping.
