If you dating or in a relationship with someone, does it last longer if you hold out on sex?

It depends on the the two people and how strong their foundation is, If it is a weak relationship, build it up and then think about sex as an option, Having sex sometimes early in a relationship can definitely cause problems if there was no strong foundation to support you two. Yes most of the time it can last longer without having sex too early, but not always, it always depends on the two persons relationship, communication and trust. Good luck =D

I am currently single but have found that my relationships have lasted longer if the relationship isn't based on sex. Anyone I've been with that I just wanted to have sex with, have never meant anything to me other than a piece. I would say hold out on sex and the relationship will probably last longer.

Really depends on what your wanting out of a relationship. If sex is your ultimate goal then it may keep you together for a while longer. However; if you are able to communicate openly and honestly about every subject, including sex, then I'd be willing to gamble that it would last a lot longer.

In my experience yes, my husband and I have been together since I was 13... and Im now 21 we got married 2 months ago and that was the first time I had had sex.. we broke up a couple of times yea but if youre together for love he'll wait on you.. if not its not true love its an infatuation.. though Id say wait have sex with someone you truly love and who loves you all the same.. someone who worships you and cherishes every smile you give them someone who adores you no matter what and will always be there for you someone who through rich and poor sickness and health will always be at your side loving you til death do you part...
think about it you deserve that every woman does and dont settle for anything less than the best..
I hope this helps

If the person you're with is only looking for sex, or is the type to become disinterested after having sex then yes, holding out might prolong it. I've had 2 serious longterm relationships which stemmed from 1 night stands - so you never know.

Not always, depends on if the other person is in the relationship for the long haul or not! Lots of guys will say they will wait, but have someone on the side that is giving them some side action and that is why he can hold out so long with you. Just be cautious!

I am currently in a relationship that poses the same question. From what I've seen so far, It can't hurt to wait too long, but it can definitely hurt to not wait long enough. Make him a promise. Tell him that when you feel the moment is right, it will happen. If he loves you, he will definitely stick around, and that moment will be pure ecstasy for both of you.

good question.... It depends on the two people involve and how strong the relationship is. I would say no because if the sex is all the relationship is built with either party and they start getting antsy then it will end sooner than later.
