Will it be possible for them to view the websites that I visited and my passwords? Also can I get/acquire some viruses and spywares?

yes, because they're in charge of the modem, router, etc... they can watch what you look at etc.

Don't do anything sensitive - SIN numbers, credit card numbers, online banking.

If you have a good firewall and a secure browser... it's not much of a threat.

If you use Internet Explorer... STOP. It's big, slow, insecure, very out of date.... amongst other things.
Just leave it there in the corner of your computer and try Firefox - sleek, faster, more secure, blocks popups and spyware, up to date, flexible and customizable...

With one free (and good) add-on (there are hundreds) you can block all banner ads.
