I am looking to build a computer. Here are the specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 Ghz
750 Gig Hard Drive
256 Meg Video Card
Surround Sound System (5.1)
Xi-Fi Sound Card
any case would do
multimedia keyboard
optical mouse (not wireless)
tv tuner+remote
dvd player
dvd burner
floppy drive
9-in-1 card reader
network card
any motherboard that supports intel core 2 Duo processor
19" LCD monitor

How much would this come to? Can anyone look up all the parts and give me the links to them or are you guys just as lazy as I am?

For a start you are better off buying an athlon computer with 64 bit like I did and for a sound card use a Creative sound blaster but beware with all sound cards as they say you have 5.1 optical output but only if you use another device that sits outside of the computer and unless you are making home movies a 250gb hard-drive is enough if not more than you need, also a wireless keyboard and mouse isn't much more expensive and is good to keep things tidy, and go for about 1gb of ram and a good graphics card like g-force as you can also bridge 2 cards to give you more, power than the standard 128mb and also use a case that has a built in lcd screen so you can keep an eye on the temperute inside the system,I use a athlon 1300+ with 64bit techonology and all if not more of the specs I have said and it is capabile of doing almost anything which only cost with windows xp pro without a monitor about US$900.00,with the dvd writter also make sure it can write to 2 layers of a disc otherwise you can only record 4.7gb on one side where you can get about 8gb per side, take your time and make sure you don't get ripped off

I second the suggestion to shop at Newegg. Some items are sold near their suggested retail price, but most are discounted pretty good, especially if you buy OEM. Plus, the shipping costs are decent. They'll split your order into several shipments. Bundled items that are shipped together typically save you on shipping.

I would buy the OS somewhere else, however. Look on www.pricewatch.com for that. I believe there is still a small little outlet called "Royal Discount" that sells XP Pro Retail for pretty cheap (less than $190).

And finally, I would cross the network card off of your list. It will likely be integrated in the motherboard you purchase. And for the TV Tuner, look for it on eBay. I'd go with the Hauppauge brand (Win-PVR models) if you can. You should be able to find the PVR-150 or PVR-250 models for close to $100.

Good luck!

I suggest that you use one of the online pricing websites. You can drill down to a specific product, and these sites list many online retailers, and what they charge for each given product. It is a highly efficient way of determining prices, and also for ordering all the components.

Recommended web sites are:

http://www.shopping.com

I think this computer will cost you between $1500 to $2000. If you really need these specifications, go for it. It depends on what you need your computer for. If you want tell me what your work is and what you need your computer for and I can give you the appropriate specifications to buy. Good Luck!

CPU: 459
Motherboard: 97
Harddrive: 400
Video card: 265 (assumed you would want a good one)
Sound card: 122
Memory: 180
Speakers: 50
Case: 130 ( i think it looks nice new design as well)
TVtuner: 140 (dual tuner allows watch and record)
DVDRW: 32
DVD: 20
Card reader: 48
Floppy: 8
Mouse: 52 (nice laser one)
Keyboard: 27
Monitor: 183 (widescreen better)

total 2,091$

obviously could go for some things cheaper and alot of it you really didnt clarify such as video card quality, system memory etc.

The other estimates people are giving you are just so low the harddrive and processor alone are 850$ you will definetly be looking at 1800-2200$

$1,100 for parts.
You forgot DDR memory (included in my estimate).
You still need the operating system.
$1,300 with Windows XP.
