Firstly, in an aquarium or fish tank. You cannot mixed, fast fish and slow fish together, The slow fish will end up eating leftovers of the fast swimming fish.

The molly would be the one most probably to give offspring first.

You may observe you fish mating or chasing on another, and in a few days gets 'bloated' that woud be a sign of pregnancy, but not always to they end up laying eggs,

You may wish to quarantine your pregnant fish. Put in in a tank with no accssories, just sand would be advisable. One the fish has laid/given birth, you may want to seperate the 'mum' as the mum would eventually eat the young fish, these young fish takes about a week to grow to about 4-5 mm in length, until then, you'll have to feed then with grinded or pounded flakes or pallets.

Remember to keep a constant supply of oxygen in your quarantined tank / mini aquarium. Avoid using filters or as these babies have the potential toget trapped (also avoid placing stones or tiny rocks in your quarantine tank)

You may want to place some corals or some bushy type plants. to accomodate a 'grouping' area for the babies. its quite a tedious process, but once your babies survive to grow up, then you'll have the satisfaction.

And remember to check once a while the water temparature.

Till Then,

Happy Trying.

When a fish has babies ALWAYS take out all the adult fish because they will eat them...If you watch the mother's stomachs they should become dark which means they are ready to ave their young soon. When my fish had babies I had no idea they were pregnant and all the baby fish were eaten... so the next time I thought the fish was pregnant I bought a breeder which is a clear box that you float in the water and you place the mother in the top. Once she has her babies they drop down a slot in the box with allows them to be protected from the mother and other fish in the tank. If you did not have one it would be impossible to collect all the babies or other fish before they are eaten. You could also buy breeding grass which the babies could hide in but the breeding box is the better and safer way to collect and save all the baby fish. Good Luck!

If your fish just had baby's u should take out all the other fish to another tank because they'll eat each other. If u have 3 pregnant fish u should separate each fish because the might get mixed up with there young make sure other bigger fish are not near the baby's.

When I bred sword tails, the females would develop a "belly button". I don't know tech name for this...when she developed this, she would have the babies in a couple of days...I agree with the breeder tank that you float...it saved many babies! After the babies were born, I gently released Mom back into the big tank. I also got a breeding net for my tank to raise the babies in. My fish usually had around 21-30 babies...not all will survive though!

Sometimes (as with all deliveries), complications can accure and you will loose the adult fish and sometimes her whole brood.

Good luck!

Goldfishes will lay transparent eggs on plants. Molly will deliver baby directly out.
You may want to get the molly out and place it in a glass can.
Wait till baby is delivered then you put the mum back to tank again, no need pump for the glass can, just a plant will do.
