With the mandate in 1944 (?) whcih created the State of Israel. The European Jews fleeing from persecution were being settled in Israel. The Palestinians were displaced or removed from those lands. Thus it is neither Israel's nor the Palestinians fault. The predominantly Muslim nations of Egypt, Syria and Jordan attacked Israel in the six-day war in which Israel kicked *** and captured a lot of land most of which have been given back. The Palestinians were then confined to camps.

after the fall of the Ottoman empire in the WW I England took over a large part of the middle east including Palestine.
the original inhabitants of this land were Arabs ( Muslims, Jews and Christians ) all living together in peace.
a few years later some Jews started randomly immigrating to the holy land they started conflicts with the natives and also engaged in terrorist acts like burning houses and killing people.
after WWII the organized immigration of Jews from ALLOVER Europe started and the number of Jews was so much more.
they started terrorizing the Arabs and drove them out of their homes!! 700,000 Palestinian were forced to leave their homes and had no where to go but into the deserts. those who survived walked to the neighboring countries like Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
the Jews quickly created an army and were trained and equipped by England.
in 1948 they created the state of Israel. the Arab nations (Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Jordan ) didn't like what happened to their fellow Arabs and got together and made up an army that consisted of 20,000 soldier poorly trained and equipped. and the Israelis were about 60,000 soldier well trained and equipped with modern weapons. which resulted in the loss of the Arabs.
the land that was given to Israel by the UN was originally 48% of Palestine and by the end of 1948 Israel had occupied 73% of the land.
in 1956 Israel along with France and Britain attacked Egypt in order to take back the Suez canal that was nationalized by the Egyptian president to be an Egyptian company. that was originally under french control. the air assault completely destroyed 3 Egyptian cities along the Suez canal.
in 1967 Israel made a surprise attack on Egypt, Syria and the rest of Palestine.
this is what is known by the 6 days war as Israel was able to occupy the land in less than 6 days.
they attacked the air force bases of Egypt and destroyed all the fleet that was there and occupied the Sinai peninsula.
they also attacked Syria and occupied the Syrian Golan heights and occupied the west bank and Gaza strip from the Palestinians which ( all Palestine was occupied )
in 1973 the Egyptian army attacked the Israelis in Sinai and was able to liberate the occupied land, on the other hand the Syrians also attacked in Golan heights but weren't able to win.
in 1978 Israel invaded Lebanon and destroyed Beirut the capital of Lebanon.
in 1982 Israel invaded Lebanon and occupied all southern Lebanon.
conclusion
Israel now occupies more than 85% of Palestine ( remember they were only to get 48% by the UN ) leaving the Palestinians such a tiny land on two opposite sides of the land ( the west bank and Gaza )
Israel occupies the Golan heights in Syria until this very day.
Hezbollah resistance was formed in 1982 and they were able to liberate the majority of southern Lebanon in 2000. a small part is still occupied.
and now the Israelis are back at it!! they are once again attacking Lebanon and destroying it for the 3rd time.

Originally, from the end of WWII, then the formation of the state of Israel in 1948. The root cause was when the Jewish population displaced indigenous Arabs and us and America just gave the nod to set up a special-case state for the Jews.
So what really was at fault was the setting up of Israel as a state, instead of a county within the state of Palestine.

The troubles started hundreds of years ago, when Muslims were a great power in the middle-east, Asia and Europe. In those times, Jews were accepted and allowed to live side-by-side with Muslims and Christians. But, Christians continually tried to invade the Holy City, they sometimes succeeded, but most of the time failed. Muslims controlled Palestine since then, until the end of WWII. That's like hundreds of years past. After WWII and the holocaust, Jews used the holocaust issue, to gain sympathy from the winning side. With help from the US & British, they forced their way into Palestine and drove the natives away like refugees. That's what'd happened since 1948 until now. As time passes by, people of the world, the new generation, fail to understand, how the troubles started and who's fault was it, due to information manipulation by Israel and US.

Began 1500 bc and is still going on. Isral is now doing and has done what was done to them then it will all change again. The USA sends arms to Israel, Iran and a few others send arms to Palenstine so till normal people get it into their heads that wars don't work then it will continue. Money is behind it of course and people in the back ground are making a lot of money out of it.
Till the Arab Nations work together and cut of all oil suppiles for a time the USA and the UK will sit on the fence.

Abraham had two boys. Ishmael, born to a bond servant and Isaac, born to his wife. This is where most of the problems between Israel and the Arabs started. You see, Isaac was the father of the Jews and Ishmael the father of the Arabs.
Isaac had twins, Esau and Jacob. Jacob's name was changed to Israel - thus the term "children of Israel". The other source of the trouble between Israel and her neighbours, is that there was animosity between Jacob and Esau. This animosity still exists today.
We could blame Abraham for trying to give God a hand in fulfilling His promise to make Abraham a father. If he had trusted God and not listened to his wife, Ishmael would not have been born and the Arabs would not exist.
With Jacob and Esau, we can blame women again. Rebecca, Jacob's mother, had him decieve his father and steal Esau's birthright. (Esau was first born).
However, both Abraham and Jacob knew what was right and did not do it! They should not have listened to the women, just like Adam should not have listened to Eve. So the men were at fault after all.

Start with the Roman Empire. Emperor Constantine brought Christianity to the Eastern Capital of the Empire in the 4th century. Islam was also created in the 4th century. It is hundreds of years of people answering question that there are no answers for. That Answer is God. Look to the Roman Empire to start the time-line, and group behavior and psychology for the reasoning.

Muslims are intolerant of anyone that is not Muslim. Even though much of the land was actually purchased by Jews, the Muslims then tried to strongarm the Jews (like the Mafia). The Jews weren't having it, though, because they just faced persecution in Europe during World War II.
