i think its absurd that they made a movie about 9-11, i think its too soon and that these people are just focused on making money... if all this money was going towards charities or something cool but its not and it way too soon! what do you think?

You're totally right. I am not saying there should be a ban against it, there haven't been ones for other movies that were made about a disaster/tragedy/war/death... etc... For example Pearl Harbor. BUT, this is way too soon, and it's something that affected way too many people on the American soil in one of the most influential cities in the world. I mean people cry just after seeing the trailer. This ends up just being a terrible emotional exploitation for money.
The actual live footage is still fresh in people minds, the scenes that they saw at the actual event are still fresh in people's minds... They don't need some half baked Hollywood film to remind them of what they have lost... And how they should feel.

Well are you upset about the WW movies? The movies about civil rights? The cold war James Bond movies?

I honestly like the idea of the movie, if it is going to portray the heroism and courage of the men and women that died that day. After all, the majority of the people don't know a single name of a person that died on 9/11 but they can tell you who won American Idol two seasons ago. Of course money is going to be made, this is corporate America. But as long as it catches the heroism, bravery, and impact of that day, then it will be worth making.

I have not seen the movie... nor am I going to. I can't. Not yet anyhow.

In defense of Oliver Stone, the movie is supposedly very well done...with the focus on the heroism, the hope & the compassion that came out of 9/11.

I will see this movie.. but i'm not ready yet.

Remember, pearl harbor happened...and there were plenty of movies made about it.

For the people who passed in 9/11 there famalies may think it is too soon but the people who gave there life trying to help others, they are heroes.. they deserve to be remembered, and if making a movie about it will show the world the heroics of those men, I am all for it!

I agree. Michael Moron made a movie with lies, distortions and 1/2-truths. If I shop in ideas it got here out in June of 2004.... very few months previously the election that Kerry tried to scouse borrow. So i do not opt to hearken to chit from the mentally ill liberals that this movie is someway unlawful using coming near election. I also do not opt to hearken to about the way it ought to correctly be censored, because they were all crying "Freedom of Speech" for Michael Moron's movie. the position's the freedom of speech now beooootches!?

I'm not upset about it. There are some people who wants to see it. Although it's a bit too soon, maybe we should just wait and give them a chance. Sometimes, people have to be reminded of the astrocities of war. Sometimes, there's never a right time to make the movie.

i think the whole thing is just stupid, if they are doing it for charity, i think that's a terrible way to raise money...ppl just continue to stress how bad it is instead of trying to move on...which i find very ridiculous...we already know how terrible that day was but why do u have to now make a freakin movie out of it...it's like the ppl dont want to forget it...when something bad happens to u, dont u want to forget and move on as soon as possible? I sure do...

I'm with you.

But I guess its proof that Al Qaeda didn't disrupt our way of life too bad, other than winning W a second term.

Human tradgedy still bows to the needs to capitalism. It's still America after all.

Sigh.

Hi,

No, you are not the only person to be upset by it. But that does not change the fact that we should be making films about it. It was a world changing event that needs to be discussed, viewed etc.

After all, they were making WWII movies during and after the event for many many years without any pause.

No, every individual who believes in democracy and liberty condemned 9/11 attacks. As I previously answered here, there will be people who will produced such kind of movie and exploit the fate of those souls who perished for their own personal gain and profit.
