.....most musicians who do rap have a negative attitude to women. It's so distressing to see all that talent used for a less than noble purpose.

Because music is a business! And the business is run to make money. And the money is in a niche for rap. An artists or musicians are in it to make money for the producing/record company and themselves and they do what they are told or else. An most think you should be smart enough to know its an act or image that they are protraying and don't really care if you think its real. Like the commercial with the two white guys and an asian in the car who are mouthing the lyrics to a rap song and the boss calls, they shut the music off and respond, then after they hang up the cell, they blast the music again. Music and reality, the difference is evident. But some ( similar to those that think pro wrestling is real) take it to heart and next thing, they're wearing pants that fit their grandpas hanging by their knees, baseball cap twisted to the side, and pimping their honda civic. Living the thug life, driving to Starbucks for a latte. Calling their gf's a h**. Go figure. Its all an illusion! Some get it and others, well, they just don't. Someone once asked Shaq how he felt being rich, Shaq responded, "rich?!", no, rich is the guy who hands me the check once a month. Reality........Illusion.

Coz most of their audience & the musicians themselves are chauvinistic.And putting women down gives them some kind of pathetic satisfaction.

I dont know why ? I feel the same way. I cant hardly watch thier music videos . But I love the beat though.

It is sad. Like it will prove how "manly" they are. I'm starting to really hate rap. It used to be so creative (I'm older, so I'm talking back in the RUN-DMC/Public Enemy days). Now its blah blah... I'm so rich... blah... look at my Benz... blah... all my ho's.. blah... blah.
It all sounds the same now. Its becoming a parody of itself.
