At the age of 18 you can change your name to anything you want..but it will cost you. Also if you were able to talk your parents into it they can sign for you to have your name changed, though I doubt this will be something that your mom is okay with. I think you should wait until you are older. You may realize that your name means something to your mom...and that is one thing that she gave you that can never be taken away. I know you hate it now, but you may grow out of the "hating" it. I kind like it b/c it is not a real common name. There are so many Jennifer's, Britney's, Amanda's etc. around.

It may depend where you live but in Canada we can get our name changed for a small fee at the Department of Vital Statistics but not until age 18 or older.

Sure can.
I'm not sure what the age requirements are for a legal name change; if you're over 18, you can definitely do it, though.
You can also just start using a different name. I think it's called a "common law" name change; you can change your name any time you want to without anyone's permission, as long as you aren't doing it to break the law (like naming yourself "bill gates" to try to get access to his bank account).

lola is a beautiful name. it could have been worse, you could have been named beth, or jessica, or amanda, or any other average name. yours is a unique name--not often heard. embrace what makes you different. it apparently means, "strong woman" or "sorrowful"--whichever way you want to view it.
*looks like the person whom posted before me had the same idea while i was writing this, so now there are two people that like it*

Oh wait, is it an old Barry Manilow song? "Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl" Oh boy, I think you have to be 18 and file with the County Clerk's office.
