I had tried several of the online jobs , but they are asking for some initiall fee or rather an investment. Is it not possible to get an online job (data entry or anything) without such requirement.

You should NEVER have to pay to get a job!!
Well maybe sometimes - but only if you are paying a fee to a professional and reputable agency.
But ALL of those online job offers where you send money to get the job or find out how to get the job are designed to separate You from Your money and You will never get anything for it.
And the scammers are laughing all the way to their offshore bank.

i don't think there are easy money for no hard work. perhaps you can setup a website and to earn money through google adsense.
