Naturopathic medicine is a research based medicine just like allopathinc/western medicine. It does invlove a higher degree of self care and adherence to the care plan, but it is legitimate and real. At first, it is hard to get over the hurdle of trusting an entirely new focus on your health, but give it a chance. Naturopaths have to have a bachelors in mostly pre-med studies and then another 4-5 years in nat, med school. Just like an MD.

It depends on the reason you chose a naturopath. You didn't give enough informaiton to answer your question. What are you seeking treatment for? Yes the 'stuff' as you put it actually works if you believe in yourself, your choices and your doctor. Do some research. Type in the first 5 ingredients in the pills, one at a time in a search bar and read a few of the 'hits'. Pay attention to .gov, .org, and .edu pages. They will be considered primary resources. By all means if you don't feel comfortable taking them, DON'T. You might want to consider going to a more traditional medical practioner with Dr. or DO. after their name...

Yes we do!
It is more a dodgey practice I think that our governments the world over fail to recognize that people have the right to choose natural healthcare and should not be made to feel "weird" about it. All the pills etc will help you and stick to it like glue and it will work faster. Perhaps we should all lobby our governments to provide some price relief on the pills etc for those choosing natural healthcare instead of discriminating against them and making it something for the rich, weird or otherwise and make it accessable to all. After all nature has been healing us all for a very long time.

Yes, they do work. Mostly it balances your system out, and makes you feel a lot better. When your system is out of balance, you feel terrible, sometimes tired, sometimes in pain, sometimes your brain isn't up to par, etc. The supplements that he recommended will help balance the vitamin/minerals in your body to what it needs. As long as you take them. And don't get frustrated if you don't feel different right away, sometimes it takes time........

Naturopathy is a form of holistic medicine. A true naturapath understands the connection between the spiritual, emotional, and physical bodies. Most physical problems start in another area; they try to find the root cause and counsel with specific, positive suggestions to help the body heal itself. If you don't thoroughly understand why he wants you to take certain pills and do not understand their actions, please see him again. It's his job to try to help you ,not confuse you further.
