Could you tell me what are nurses hours where they work several long days and get days off during the week and what are some other 24/7 shifts?

As an RN you can work a ton of different shifts. At my first job I worked 2 12-hour shifts and 2 8-hour shifts (40 hours). Now I work 3 12-hour shifts. However, you can work whatever fits into your schedule hour wise.
That's why we have so many days off. We work in 3 or 4 what other people work in 4-6.
I know people that work 60 hours a week and others who work 12.

Full-time nurses generally work a total of five days a week, an 8 hour shift every time. Each nurse gets every other Sat & Sun off, so that he/she might get two weekdays off every other week. Some nurses may opt to work 12-hour shifts. These nurses usually work those shifts in a row and then get time off. Current practice is 3 - 12hr shifts and then 4 days off. Each nurse works his/her schedule out with his/her head nurse. Nowadays there is a lot of flexibilty on working hours for nurses. This is to make working conditions more attractive to people and to reduce the amount of nurse burnout. Did you know that 50% of all newly graduated nurses leave the profession forever after the first year of clinical practice? Nursing is denfinitely not for everyone. I know. I am a nurse (retired now).

It really depends on the place u work. Most places will work with u on a schedule. You can work 3 12 hour shifts in a row and have 4 days off a week. Some places work you 2 16 hr shifts back to back, and u have the rest of the week off. It really depends. I work 5 8 hour shifts, and I love it(cause I get every other weekend off.
