Eric Clapton's live solo in 'Crossroads' from the Cream's 'Wheels Of Fire' double album.
Ten Years After's Alvin Lee's live solo performance in 'Spider In My Web'
Honorable Mention.... AC/DC's Angus Young's opening intro work to 'Thunderstruck' on the Live At Donnegal CD. Nice work.......

I prefer live solo's since the players have to cut it then and there.. no studio retry's....

Oh there's a lot of them. "Thunderstruck" By AC/DC at the beginning with Angus doing the finger pck thing. That one is impressive. Also pretty much all of "Ashes Of the Wake" By Lamb Of God because it's instrumental, the one at the end of "Dani California" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Californication" also by the Red Hot Chilli's, "Angel Of Death" by Slayer, "Raining Blood" by Slayer, "In This River" by Black Label Society just to name a FEW

its too hard to tell, there are so many different styles and such.
But my preference would be anything live by JIMI HENDRIX. Playing with his teeth and behind his back and all is just sweet.

It's more of a "riff" than a solo, but I like Unforgiven (Metallica)
