I for one think the majority of our society has no balls. We've become spineless, gutless wastes in a cesspool of political correctness. We're so afraid of offending someone that we no longer have the stomach to do what we need to do to defend ourselves and stand up to our enemies. We are also being crippled by our own cowardly media. It's put up or shut up time in my opinion.

Oh, and I don't criticize President Bush for the subject matter of my question, Clinton started all of the political correctness in this country. He was and is a worthless piece of crap.

I agree with those sentiments. I have given that alot of thought. I think "Political Correctness" has become a way society, and lawyers can enforce facism. That being said, I think that there is nothing wrong with trying as hard as you can to be sensitive to other people in what you say. I just don't like how this is enforced. It also seems hypocritical, because the very people that say we should be free to do this or that with our own bodies, seem to be militant about not letting us be free to express ourselves. It's become oppressive. I think more people are fed up with it than we realise. As far as the war goes, that is a very difficult situation, and we need to respect other people's desire for peace. But I believe we should support our leaders, because they are making some very tough decisions, and we live in a dangerous world where crazy people are getting rockets, missles, gas, nukes, and we have to figure out how to fix this problem. Pray for George Bush, don't bash him. Pray that he makes the right decisions. George Bush says that he prays, so that's a good thing if he really does that, becuase God might intercede and prevent him from making a bad decision. So if it's your opinion we shouldn't be in a war in Iraq. Voice that opinion, but I think it's wrong to constantly bash our President. The conservatives did the same thing with Clinton, and I'm guilty of that myself, but I regret that, and now realise that I should have been praying for him too, because he was in the same position.

Too many decisions, too fast.. about too many strange and unfamiliar problems.. not some imagined "lack of leadership".. explain the gross incompetence of political and governmental decisions today. America is reeling from a decisional implosion!
Our capacity for effective governmental decision -making is deteriorating rapidly.. when all the decisions had to be made in the White House. We are all suffering from future shock here, there was little time for considering fully any one of them.
A political system must not only be able to make and enforce decisions.. it must operate on the right scale.. it must be able to integrate disparate policies.. it must be able to make decisions at the right speed, and it must both reflect and respond to the diversity of society. If it fails on any of these points, it counts disaster. Our problems are no longer a matter of "left-wing" or "right-wing".. "strong leadership" or "weak".. the decision itself has become a menace.
As we are jolted by crisis after crisis, aspiring Hitlers and Stalins will crawl from the wreckage and tell us that time has come to solve our problems by throwing away not only our institutional "hulks" but our freedom as well. As we race into the new era, those of us who want to expand human freedom will not be able to do so by simply defending our exisitng institutions. We shall, like America's founding parents centuries ago.. have to invent new ones.
Have we lost our backbone? the truly astonishing fact today is that we still continue to function at all!

they have in no way had a backbone examine some british historic previous, invading countries and stealing their minerals and convey would not take plenty backbone, working the drugs commerce in china and japan and the slave commerce in africa did no longer need plenty the two, that is in no way been a "super" us of a it extremely is a fantasy perpetuated by applying the monarchs and politicians, going back to the state subsidized piracy of drake and raleigh and others in elizabethan cases and the mass slaughter of the indian tribes in invading north u . s . of america, the first behaviour substitute into purely marginally worse than spain, portugal, holland, france etc yet enable's no longer pretend it substitute into something to be happy with, the stupidity of our legislators and militia is infinite, we went into WWI completely unprepared and have been even worse arranged while they stupidly declared conflict on germany after the invasion of poland in WWII inspite of understanding we had a scarcity of weapons, tanks, planes, ships etc. touching directly to iraq and afghanistan blair could in basic terms have informed the individuals it substitute right into a stupid unwinnable conflict and the chiefs of team could have refused the orders and led to a constitutional disaster which will have solved a number of our modern-day issues

Have you been spying on me? People have turned into sheeple. The truth is not important to most. I could care less about offending someone or some group if they are wrong. If they can't take the flack don't do the act.

I'm right with you on political correctness, no more freedom of speech. As a great American once said, " I disagree with what he said, but I'll defend to the death his right to say it", or words to that effect.

I think we have a weak president or either he has Alzheimer's and doesn't know what he is doing. After all, this is his last term so in my opinion, he's screwing it up for the next prez.

I don't think we lost our backbone. It was pretty brave of those American soldiers in Iraq to kill a family and rape a 14 year old girl.
