I recently had a laparoscopy and was told to hold off having sex for awhile. Just wondering if anyone who has had this done knows exactly how long? I have been told a range of times.

Had a key hole laparoscopy done last thursday. Had some stage 2 endometreosis burnt off.

I waited about 6 weeks. It was about that time that I started to feel 100% myself again. I took it slow and took control. He didn't seem to mind ;). You can try earlier than that if you wish. Just be careful. Even though you are feeling really good at about 2 weeks, your insides are still healing. Just do what I did, take it slow and take control. If anything hurts or is uncomfortable, stop. If you have any major questions, ask you doctor. Best wishes and have fun!

I have had it done, the amount of time depends on you. If you aren't in any pain and you feel up to it then it shouldn't be a problem. You have to listen to your body though. The 1st sign of pain could be an indication it is too soon. Just be gentle and take it slow.

it really depends on what type of surgery you had, and what body parts were affected. you should consult your surgeon, theyll have all the answeres as to when you can shower, drive, return to work or school, have intercourse, etc.

this is not a question you should ask the public. your doc knows what procedure he did, ask him. was the lap for endometriosis? for a gallbladder? who knows! if someone says two days and you do have sex and end up harming yourself, you'll only blame yourself. just call the doc's office and ask the nurse to talk to him/her.
