Hi everyone! I really need some adjectives and verbs that describe the following:
* Army/Military: This can be ANYTHING from what they wear to how they march, to how they take commands. The more different, the better.
* A river: Same as above. Anything to describe a river from how fast it flows, to color, etc.
* Words that could be used to describe them as 'one', so it is not clear whether I'm referencing the army or a river.
I'm working on a piece right now, where I need for the river and the army to be viewed as the same thing, not two separate things. For instance, in 'The Lottery' by Shirley Jackson gives you a perception that it's a normal day and everything is rainbows and lollipops, but it's not like that at all. I am working on something in which I hope to capture the same shock value, so I need for them to be one thing.
THANKS!!

When I say the more different the better, I mean the more unique the better. Thanks! :o)

It's not a song. It's a short story (based on true events). I've been thinking about for awhile, but have come up short with descriptors. I don't want to publish it. It's for personal reasons only to help me through something that happened to someone I know. That's all.

You're jumping all over the place with proof texts. It helps if you can stick to one point at a time with a question, and I'm only going to deal with one paragraph of yours, the last one. Gross misunderstanding is bound to arise when anti-Trinitarians do not grasp that the Trinity doctrine clearly states that there are three Persons, who are not the same Person. Thus, the Father is a Person and the Son is a Person and it is impossible for the Father to be the Son, or for the Son to be the Father. We both know that that is entirely biblical. We are agreed on this point. So could you therefore stop implying that the Trinity teaches the opposite? You are misrepresenting this doctrine. There is no "oneness in person" implied. There is but one Being - God - the divine Being who created everything. (Oh, and Jesus did not say "My God and our God." He said "My God and YOUR God". The clear distinction He deliberately made is critical for our understanding of the vital difference between our standing before God and Christ's standing. Think about it!) This means that you have also fallen into the trap that Muslims have fallen into, and you are providing ammunition that the Muslims gladly use to fire against those who trust only in Jesus for salvation. Does it not worry you that your view on this point agrees with that of those who are opposed to the gospel about Jesus Christ? After all, it was an angel that appeared to Mohammed and you say Jesus is but an angel. You have more than one point in common with Muslims. Is that not alarming? So, to answer your question, No, there is no problem with the Hebrew word elohim because when the Bible calls Jesus 'God' and all the angels are commanded to worship Christ, there is no contradiction about monotheism because this Jesus is the same God who created everything, in perfect harmony and purpose with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

washing away, stripping the land bare, demolishing obstacles, those are negatives, which sounds like what you're looking for. I see them both doing the same thing. Does that help?
