The Undisputed Title means both the WWE and WCW heavyheight belt held by a wrestler at the same time. Jericho held it first.
At the Vengeance PPV on December 9, 2001, Chris Jericho defeated The Rock to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship (now known as the "World Championship"), and immediately afterward defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship, unifying the titles. Jericho was subsequently referred to as the WWF Undisputed Champion.

An undisputed title is when there is only one world champion with no other world champions in any other promotions. This happened when WWE bought WCW. At that point in time there were no other wrestling companies. Chris Jerciho was the first undisputed champion. Now there is no Undisputed champion. And there will not be as long as TNA is around. Right now there 4 world champions in North America. Big Show ECW(actually part of WWE, Booker T world champion(WWESmack Down), Edge WWE chamion, and Jeff Jarret the TNA champion. There is no way that the TNA champion will fight any of the other three WWE champs. So currently there is no way for there to be an undisputed champion.

I would have to argue every point made so far. The very first TRUE undisputed champion was Macho Man Randy Savage after winning a tournament at WrestleMania 4.This was after Andre the Giant won the title from Hulk Hogan and subsequently handed it over to Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase. the title was vacated and there was a tournament where macho Man defeated i believe 4 people to win the first ever Undisputed Championship.

An undisputed title is when the title has had no previous ownership! Meaning the title is vacant. There is no dispute then with whom ever wins it when its put into a contest.
The person who wins that title is then considerd an undisputed champion for that purpose.

it was brought in just after the ivasion story line when the rock had 1 title and stone cold had the other they had a comp with stone cold the rock kurt angle and chris jerchio chris win and held both then they made 1 called the undisputed champ and people the rock brock lensar and undertaker held it the last undisputed champ was brock lesnar when he signed a smackdown excluslive contract it was the wwe title the title was used until john cena reign where it was customised into today wwe title

john cena is the champ and there is no doubt about that . undisputed means that the champion is the one and only nobody can claim otherwise. in wrestling this is never really true because unless the champ holds both heavyweight titles then there are really two world champs or three since ecw came back.
in boxing one is not called the undisputed champ until they have one all three belts from all three federations in their weight division so that is basically what it is, u own all the available top belts in ur class.

sorry guys thats not correct...titles hav been claimed "undisputed" when two titles are unified like the wwe title and wcw title (hhh had the undisputed) and the undisputed intercontinental when shawn had the fake belt and razor had the real 1 ....they were unified and claimed the undisputed intercontinental title

When there is only one version of a particular championship belt.. EX: World Heavyweight Championship. The only Real World Championship was created back in the 1890's and is what is now the NWA World Championship.. But as we all know any wrestling promotion can have a World Championship without it being a true World Championship.
Boxing and MMA is the same way now a days..

An undisputed title is when no one else has ever whipped your azz or in other words...you are the champion and have never been contested or defeated.
