Thanks to someone for identifying spurge. The weed now in question grows in the same areas, about a foot tall, slightly reddish stems, one inch leaves about i/3 if an inch wide tapering to a ronded point and gently serrated along the edges.The central rib of some of the bigger leaves get a little red in the proximal end.

Is it pigweed or a sida? Pigweed often grows tall and has a reddish tint to the stems and leaves. Sida is a litte more tough than pigweed, little more woody.

That is my guess without having a picture. Do you have a description of the flower?
