I have a serial bully in my life and he's an asshole. How do you deal with irrational personalities?

When I was little, I hid from one bully in our neighborhood all summer until the 'heat' blew over (my dog bit his back).
Another time in high school, I went to the wrestling team. I wanted to know some holds and submissions. I at least wanted to be prepared. When the girl started her crap - I told her to put up or shut up. I was lucky she just stomped away and tried to spread rumors...
It depends on your situation and the mentality of your bully. First you should tell your parents (I told my dad about the wrestling so I wouldn't get into to much trouble). If this guy is on you then you should go to some authority - school or police. You don't have to handle it alone - some people are freaks 2degrees from flip-out so be careful.

Don't back down. They thrive on that. Doesn't matter if your big or small, if you look like you've got fight in you and you won't take his crap then he'll find someone easier. Don't be a jerk about it, just make it clear that it would be well worth his time to find someone else. Looking people straight in the eyes with a look that says "your joking right?" generally does the trick.

Kick his ***! If you can't, gather some other people he's bullied and bum rush him! You go get him, boy! Do not reason with him. Just don't say anything. Run up one day from behind and pop him in the head.

By first becoming skilled in the fighting arts just in case you need to back up what you say and then tell him to shut his trap.

yes, actually i have, i'm not known as an intimadating person, i dont like fights but when someone has purposely tried to hurt me, i hurt them back, there was this girl on my bus, it was when we were both freshman in h.s. and she kept calling me names, i told her to stop and she got up and tried to puch me, i had a fast reflex and i held her arm and went at it, she thought she was going to be walking all over me and i defended myself like a firece lion, physically, mentally, emotionally, she wasn't getting away w/trying to puch me, i had her strapped down on the school bus and i taught her not to mess w/me
