Build up your leg strength by doing some duck walks. All you do is get into a crouch position and start walking while crouched. You'll feel it in your legs in a matter of seconds.

Build up your endurance by running suicides. Start from the baseline of a basketball court, run to the nearest free throw line, touch the line, run back to the baseline and touch it, turn around and run to midcourt and touch the line, run back to baseline, then to far free throw, baseline, and for the finale run baseline to baseline. Start with a 35 second time limit and continue to gradually work to a faster time. Not only will this build up your endurance, but it will also build up your speed!

Hope this helps!

Work your calves. See this web-site for a list / pictures of many different calve exercises in the gym.

Additionally, you want strong endurance, so as much running/ cardio you can get. You may want to mix things up with a kick- boxing class.
