P.S. I do have experience. Give or take 2 years 1-2 times per week, with a Kawasaki EX 500. The time that the bike was not in use has been takin out.

I Can:
Cornering 3/5
Breaking 4/5
Shifting 5/5

That is all in my opinion though.

If you could also add other things to work on that would be great.

Neither one is "better" than the other. You are looking at two street legal racing bikes. The R-6 weighs about 355 pounds, the R-1 around 380, dry. The 600 makes about 120 h.p. the R-1 around 164 H.P. The smaller bike will run between 140-160 MPH, depending on the load., the Liter bike 180 mph or more. Now you can do a Power Commander, Dyno tune, pipe and air filter to either and pickup an extra 12-20 H.P. What should determine which bike you buy is 1. Your riding experience, 2. Your check book, and 3. THE INSURANCE. Obviously the 1000 is going to cost more to insure. Much more. Also your physical size will dictate which rocket you want to ride. Taller guys, 6" and up will find the R-1 a more comfortable fit. Both bikes handel far beter than 90% of the riders can push them. Both are a blast to ride. Will you be 2 up or solo? For more 2 up riding the 1000 is better. Good luck.

Unless your a professional rider you wont feel the difference in handling between the 2. The factor I like most about the R1 is the torque! The R6 is a 600cc and it takes longer to reach the optimum RPM's to make power! The R1 has gobs of power all through the RPM band.

On the other hand, if your a new rider you should NOT buy the R1. The R6 is much more "forgiving" if you crack the throttle on accidnent.

From your question- NEITHER.

If you're a new rider or don't have experience, stay away from both of these. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Cornering depends on your skill level more than the bike's abilities, a retarded monkey with Tourette's can twist a throttle and go fast, and hitting ANYTHING at 100+ mph means the end of your fun FOREVER.

The R6 can go 0-60 in under 4 seconds with a top speed higher than anyone needs to go on the street. All you get with a literbike is faster acceleration and 20 mph faster top speed. If you don't understand the ramifications of this, you need to get a used Honda Rebel instead.

They are both great bikes. The R6 will handle a little better because it's lighter, but the R1 will out accelerate it coming out of a curve or in a straightaway. I'd go with the R6 as a daily ride.

They are both good, fast bikes. R1 will run 1/4 half a second quicker. It's also bigger bike suitable for bigger riders, other than that R6 is just as good, did I mention cheaper too.

i have an r1. it is for sure faster than a kawasaki or cbr, mabey even the gsxr 1000.to be honest though. i should have gone with the cbr 1000 rr because if you want to ride on 1 wheel, thats the bike to do it with (period).but definatley get a liter bike.only leaders ride liters.

It all depends on what you want. Do you want too lead or do you want too follow? If you want too lead the R1 all the way. Both are very nice bikes tho, cant go wrong with either one

If you don't know the difference, you don't need one of these. They are for pros....

Not trying to be smart with you, but I've seen a lot of them in the junk yard with less than 50 miles on them.......
