If I had my druthers, I would have overturned the absolutely terrible US Supreme Court 'Dred Scott Decision' of 1857.
If I could have done this, the entire American Civil War would have been avoided, and the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the US Constitution could have been ratified peacefully without bloodshed.
The Supreme Court ruled that:
No Negroes--not even free Negroes--could ever become citizens of the United States. They were "beings of an inferior order" not included in the phrase "all men" in the Declaration of Independence nor afforded any rights by the United States Constitution, and;
The exclusion of slavery from a United States territory in the Missouri Compromise was an unconstitutional deprivation of property (***** slaves) without due process, prohibited by the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution, and;
Dred Scott was--and would always be--a slave and would remain the property of his owner.
